The Ottawa Police Service responded to a fatal single motor vehicle collision on Snake Island Road on July 24, 2011, at about 5:30 am.
The deceased was identified as 22 year-old Tyson Wiegand of Osgoode. The driver of the vehicle was travelling southbound on Snake Island Road when it left the roadway and the driver was ejected from the vehicle as a result of the collision.
A portion of Snake Island Road between Nixon Drive and Doyle Road was closed as the Ottawa Police Service conducted their investigation. Snake Island Road has since re-opened.
