A Blenheim man is in police custody in connection with a home invasion early yesterday morning.
Shortly after 4:00 a.m. a man called police to report a man had broken into his apartment.
It is alleged that:
– The accused broke into an apartment and held a knife to a man’s throat
– When the victim’s girlfriend attempted to flee, the accused prevented her from leaving
The man eventually left and the victims called police. Officers searched the area but could not locate the suspect. Yesterday afternoon police located with the man and arrested him.
A 24-year-old Blenheim man has been charged with breaking and entering, assault with a weapon, and forcible confinement. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
