The Calgary Police Service has arrested and charged a man who allegedly conspired to have someone kidnapped and murdered.

The CPS Homicide Unit began an investigation after receiving information that a Calgary man had been attempting to hire someone to kidnap and then kill another man.

Investigators worked to ensure the safety of the alleged intended victim.

It is alleged the accused approached more than one individual, asking them to commit the kidnapping, assault and murder.

On Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, officers arrested a man in relation to this case. He has since been charged.

Kishore Kevin KAPUR, 47, has been charged with three counts of counselling another person to commit kidnapping, assault and murder (Section 464 of the criminal code), and three counts of uttering threats of bodily harm (Section 264.1(1)(a))

The intended victim was known to the accused. The motive is believed to involve a domestic situation. The motive did not involve criminal activity such as drugs or organized crime. The intended victim is not known to police.
