Exotic imports owner Claude Thebeau charged with fraud again, Moncton

On August 10, 2011, 45-year-old Claude Thebeau, of Aldouane, N.B., appeared in Moncton Provincial Court and was charged with one additional count each of fraud and obtaining money by false pretences. He was also charged with breach of an undertaking. He was arrested on August 8 by the District 5 RCMP Crime Reduction Unit.

Mr. Thebeau was previously charged with 35 fraud-related offences. He is the owner of Exotic Imports and Sales in Richibucto. The RCMP alleges that he has defrauded at least 17 individuals from across New Brunswick of more than $250,000.

Mr. Thebeau has now been remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear in court next on September 20, 2011.

The RCMP is asking anyone who may have done business with Claude Thebeau and who thinks they may also have been defrauded to contact the District 5 RCMP in Richibucto N.B.
