Edmonton Police Service Homicide Section detectives have charged a 16-year-old male in connection with the death of 22-year-old Bruce Dumais on June 19, 2011.

RCMP arrested the 16-year-old, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, in St. Paul, Alberta on August 12.

The Saddle Lake Reserve resident has been charged with second degree murder and possession of a weapon.

Background :

Shortly after midnight on June 19th Downtown Division Patrol officers responded to a report of an altercation.

Upon arrival, officers found a male believed to be in his early 20s lying on the ground in the area of 107 Street and 107 Avenue suffering from an apparent stab wound. Paramedics also responded to the scene and transported the male to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries and died.

Bruce Dumais, 22, died as a result of a stab wound.
