Man killed in fatal truck crash, Tracadie-Sheila, N.B

On August 18, 2011, at approximately 8:40 a.m., members of the District 8 Acadian Peninsula RCMP responded to a crash that occurred on the Tracadie-Sheila by-pass, in New Brunswick.

A 40-year-old man from Val-Comeau died after being ejected from a pickup truck. He was sitting in the back seat when the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing the truck to leave the road.

A collision reconstructionist attended the scene to try to determine the cause of the crash. The two other occupants in the truck sustained minor injuries and were transported to the hospital by ambulance.

The victim’s name has not been released, pending notification of his family. It is believe he was not wearing a seatbelt.

The investigation is ongoing.
