An arrest has been made in the investigation into Durham Region’s first homicide of 2011.

After being contacted by members of the DRPS Homicide Unit earlier, the accused turned himself in at our West Division station on Brock Road in Pickering last night.

Kyle MARCOUX, age 21, of Pickering has been charged with Second Degree Murder and appeared for a bail hearing today.

Tyson HENRY, age 22, of Pickering died of a stab wound he received near the intersection of Parkham Crescent and Colmar Avenue in Pickering in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 2, 2011. Investigators believe the accused became engaged in a verbal confrontation with the victim, which led to the physical altercation.

No further suspects are being sought.
