Toronto taxi driver charged with sexual assault

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a sexual assault investigation.

On Saturday, August 27, 2011, at 3:30 a.m., police received a call for a sexual assault in the Pape Avenue/Cosburn Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

– a man and a women hired a taxi while in the Entertainment District and were driven to the Pape Avenue/Gowan Avenue area,

– during the trip, the cab driver reached into the back seat and sexually assaulted the woman,

– the woman exited the cab and the driver prevented the man from leaving the vehicle by locking the doors and keeping the vehicle in motion,

– a short time later, the driver sexually assaulted the man,

– the man escaped from the cab and reported the incident to police.

Feisal Galbat, 51, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) two counts of Sexual Assault
2) Forcible Confinement

Police believe there may be more victims.
