The Hamilton Police Service is seeking the assistance of the public in identifying two suspects involved in a home invasion at an apartment building on Hamilton Mountain yesterday.
On Wednesday, September 7th, 2011, at approximately 4:00 p.m., a female knocked at the door of an 8th floor apartment at a building located at 33 Fennell Ave. E. The knock was answered by a resident in the apartment. Two male suspects then forced their way inside and punched and kicked the male resident. One of the male suspects carried a weapon, possibly a handgun. Three other people in the apartment were bound and confined in the bathroom while the two suspects searched the apartment. After approximately 15 minutes, the suspects fled from the apartment taking several items with them.
One of the victims chased one of the suspects through the area. He was eventually detained in a yard on Hoover Cres., with the assistance of an off-duty Hamilton Police Service officer.
The second male remains outstanding. He is described as:

• 5’9” – 6’2”
• 200 lbs.
• approximately 30 yrs.
• medium build
• wearing a brown sweater
The female suspect remains outstanding. Her description is unknown.
The 50 yr. old male resident suffered minor injuries and did not go to hospital.
While being chased, the apprehended suspect disposed of numerous items. Residents in the area south of Fennell Ave. E. between Upper James and Upper Wellington are being asked to check their properties and to contact police if they find any property that does not belong to them.
Police are satisfied that this was a targeted incident. This investigation is ongoing.
