At last, the long hectic search for Randall Hopley comes to rest after the suspect’s arrest in the dead of night from his relative’s house Tuesday.
The neighbors says that Hopley was taken under arrest just west of Blairmore, Alta., 21 kilometers east of the B.C. state line. He seemed familiar with the area. In a short account, the RCMP announced the arrest of the main suspect in missing boy’s case, Hopley. The police department called the media for a detailed press meeting at 5 p.m. ET.
Missing boy Kienan’s father Paul said: “We’re happy for the community, relieved for the community. What more can we say? Extremely excited! We’re all excited that he’s out of the community. I think he’s got a much better chance than a hunter finding him in the bush. He’s going to get the help that he needs.”
Paul Hebert also said that his 3year old son seemed healthy. The kid is just trying to adjust to life back with his family.
The mayor of Sparwood, Sharon Fraser said: “My God, maybe now we can get back to some reality and normality, you know? This is one of the hardest lessons all of us have had to learn, that we can’t leave our doors unlocked and we can’t let out children just run and we know that they’ve maybe only gone to the neighbour.”
