Relative charged in the murder of elderly Winnipeg woman

On Wednesday, September 21st, 2011 just before 3:30 p.m., Winnipeg Police Service units were dispatched to a residence in the area of Niakwa Road and Pine Bluff Road after receiving reports of an injured female within the residence. 
 
Upon arrival officers and emergency services responders located an elderly female suffering from upper body injuries. The victim was conveyed to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. 
 
An adult female was located within the residence and she was taken into custody without incident. 
 
Cause of death has been determined to be blunt force trauma to the upper body. 
 
The victim has been identified as Rahima SACRANIE, 84 years of Winnipeg.  
 
Sahar SACRANIE, 19 years of Winnipeg has been charged with second degree murder for her alleged involvement into this incident.  She remains in custody.
