The U.S House has given the go ahead to the short term spending bid to fund the federal government and now the case has been presented to President Barack Obama for approval.
This move has been taken as it was part of the bipartisan agreement which was aimed at bringing an end to the dispute over spending of Disaster Relief which endangered to bring a partial shutdown of the government as and when the economic year at Friday midnight.
The Government will remain funded till the 4th of October because of the congressional approval. After that a more wide-ranging solution would have to be implemented by the House so that the government can stay funded till the 18th of November.
The majority of the members from the House were on a weeklong break which was the reason for the approval to take place at a “Pro Forma” session and involved only three House Members who used their “Unanimous Consent” Rule.
Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), a lone Democrat said afterwards “Once you get to yes, things can move quickly. But getting to yes took way too long in this case, hopefully we won’t have a repeat of this situation” in the coming months”
Harris who was present at the Speaker’s Chair added “I don’t know what’s going to happen; nothing is being done normally in Washington anymore.”
