It has been reported by the Yemen Military Officials that a U.S Air Strike has led to the killing of Anwar Awlaki, who is a notorious U.S born cleric and an important voice supporting Al Qaeda, who is alleged to have spread extremist education in Arab and who also once tried to blow up a U.S plain but failed.

Full details on the incident have not been made too public. Washington was supporting Yemen Army with predator drones in order for Yemen to fight against Al Qaeda presence in the rocky mountains of Yemen.

The news of his death was brought to light by the YEMEN media who also revealed that the airstrike were specially targeted towards Awlaki in the Marib area of Northern Yemen.

Yemen authorities have been found guilty of spreading fake news of killings of many top Al Qaeda operatives in the past but if the current news on Awlaki is to be belived than his death will prove to be a major setback for the Militant network. Al Qaeda has taken advantage of Yemen’s political instability and occupied villages, mountains and towns of Yemen.

The Defense Ministry sent a text message to one of the representatives of the Yemen Media which read “The terrorist Anwar Awlaki has been killed along with some of his companions,”
