The new Amazon tablet named the Kindle Fire Tablet for which the CEO of Amazon Jeff Bezos made an official release announcement on Wednesday has faced tough reviews from technology analyst across the United States.
Many leading analyst including Piper Jaffray are of the opinion that there is no possibility that the Kindle Fire Tablet stands a chance to compete with Apple’s mighty Ipad.
Kindle Fire’s major selling point could well turn out to be their aggressive pricing at $199 in comparison to the Apple’s 16GB Ipad 2 which stands at $499.
Both Kindle Fire and Ipad 2 are poles apart from each other, Ipad 2 proudly stands as the Tablet market leader and boasts features like 9.7-inch screen, front and rear camera, Face time for video chat and comes in 16, 32 and 64 GB models. On the other hand the newly announced Kindle Fire has a 7-inch display, contains no camera, no microphone, 8GB internal memory and most importantly the Cloud storage facility.
Gene Munster analyst of Piper Jaffray said” With the Kindle Fire, we believe Amazon is attempting a unique tablet strategy by leveraging a superior cloud-based content delivery system tied with Prime to make money off of a device we believe will sell at a loss.”
