Winnipeg male suspect arrested for a deceased female located in Sutherland Avenue

On Saturday, August 27th, 2011 just after 9:00 a.m., Winnipeg Police Service uniform members responded to the area of Main Street and Sutherland Avenue for a report of a deceased female that had been located. 
 
Upon arrival officers located a deceased female, later identified as April Helen HORNBROOK, 24 years of Winnipeg, in the rear of a vacant building within the 700 block of Main Street.  The victim appeared to have injuries to her upper body.
 
A cause of death has been determined to be blunt force trauma to the upper body.
 
On September 30th, 2011 shortly before 11:30 p.m., as a result of the continued investigation led by members of the Homicide Unit, a suspect male was taken into custody at a residence within the 300 block of Manitoba Avenue.
 
Max Maurice RICHARD, 36 years of Winnipeg has been charged with 2nd degree murder for his alleged involvement in this incident. 
 
RICHARD has been detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
