BlackBerry users around the world, including North and South America, are facing great problems as the texting service was not functional for the third day running.
Research In Motion made an announcement on Tuesday that their services have now functioning normally and the shutdown was because of a failure within their own infrastructure, but after that they acknowledge the fact that the disruptions were still taking place.
According to Reuters, on Wednesday, customers in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India were experiencing inconsistent email service and they had no access to browsing and messaging. The Wall Street Journal said later Wednesday that outages have spread to the U.S. and certain countries in South America, including Brazil and Argentina.
“BlackBerry subscribers in the Americas may be experiencing intermittent service delays this morning,” RIM said in a statement. “We are working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and we apologize to our customers for any inconvenience. We will provide a further update as soon as more information is available.”
The BlackBerry outages come as Apple prepares to sell its new smart phone — the iPhone 4S.
