Members of the Springhill Police Service (SPS), with assistance from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Northeast Nova (NEN) Major Crime Unit are investigating a homicide in the community of Springhill.
At approximately 2:53 a.m., SPS responded to a complaint at a residence on Mechanic Street, Springhill. Upon arrival at the scene, police found a 38 year-old Springhill woman deceased inside her residence.
An 18 year-old Springhill man turned himself into the SPS and remains in police custody. Identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The SPS and RCMP NEN Major Crime Unit are continuing their investigation.
