Winnipeg police charge Darrell Walter Longclaws for manslaughter

On November 12, 2011, at approximately 2:10 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a working fire at a building located in the 300 block of Carlton Street.
 
Emergency crews located an adult male later identified as: Harry Wellington Gegwetch, 42 years of age within the building suffering from upper body injuries. The male was conveyed to hospital in critical condition but has since succumbed to injuries sustained.
 
Members of the Homicide Unit and Arson Strike Force continued to investigate. On November 18, 2011, at approximately 2:50 p.m., Darrell Walter Longclaws, 32 years of age was arrested and charged with Manslaughter due to his alleged involvement.
 
The investigation is continuing.
