24-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder of a 3-year-old girl. The woman is supposed to be the toddler’s mother.

The little girl is suffering from life-threatening injuries after falling from the sixth-floor of a building located in the east Toronto. Toronto police initially marked it as a suspicious incident.

9-1-1 received a call around 4 a.m. Thursday, and the girl was immediately rushed to the Hospital for Sick Children. According to the neighbors, they heard loud noises and yelling before the girl fell.

According to Const. Tony Vella, the woman appeared on a video remand in court on Monday. Police say the investigation is ongoing and witnesses are being urged to come forward.

Vella said when they reached the apartment; nobody was opening the door so a tactical unit was called to break it down. According to the neighbors, the girl’s mother is pregnant with twins. They say the woman often behaved bizarrely and had several screaming outbursts in and outside the building.

In recent times, a Toronto man was charged with attempted murder after his wife and daughters were pushed from the fourth-floor.
