Indecent photos of the dead teenaged sisters of Shafia family were found on their mobiles. Stored in the mobile phone’s memory card were also the pictures of their boyfriends, a murder trial was told Monday.

The revealing snaps of Zainab Shafia, 19, and Sahar Shafia, 17, were shown on a TV screen during the trial, where the accused father, mother and brother were also present.

Moreover, Zainab’s former Montreal boyfriend also told the court about an email he received in 2008 in which Zainab warned him to beware of her brother, Hamed.

“I don’t want to give him the slightest idea we are friends,” Zainab Shafia wrote to the boyfriend.

Earlier, during the investigation, 20-year-old Hamed Shafia affirmed that he was never at the canal, where the victims were found dead. Throughout the interrogation, young Shafia mostly stayed quiet and reserved, but at other times he took on the police officers and grilled them about what evidence they have collected to accuse the family.

“I don’t know. I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Hamed replied when asked why his phone was using a cell tower in the Kingston area.

The Shafias have three other children, who were placed in care after their parents’ arrest. All seven siblings were the biological children of Tooba Mohammad Yahya.

  1. Why is it a known and excepted practice for other cultures to be so openly raciest and forbcomment_ID their children to have relationships with other races but if a white father told his daughter she could not comment_date another race, there would be a heyday. I’m sick and tired of this double standard bullshit.
