Two men face charges in connection with a sexual assault that occurred earlier this year.

On March 23, 2011, police received a report of a sexual assault that had occurred on March 21. That evening, the victim met up socially with two male acquaintances. She woke up the next day and attended the QE2 emergency as she believed she had been sexually assaulted.

After an investigation by officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit, two men were arrested without incident on November 17. Today charges were sworn before the courts against 28-year-old Jeffrey Kendall Brown and 26-year-old Lyle Howe. Both are scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on December 15, 2011 to face charges of sexual assault and administering a noxious substance. Brown faces an additional charge of theft under $5,000.
