Body of a 6-year-old Maxime Dion has been found by the search units from 80 kilometres east of Montreal, in Upton, Que.

The boy’s body was missing since he tripped into the icy waters of the Rivière Noire east of Montreal. The body found at noontime on Friday, according to the Quebec provincial police.

Earlier this week, the boy was playing with his older brother, Alexandre, and another kid on the river bank when he fell in the ice. The other two boys tried to pull Maxime out.

In an instinct reaction, a neighbour’s dog jumped into the water to save Maxime.

The body of the golden retriever was found on Wednesday.
