A tourist from U.S. was allegedly kidnapped from a north Toronto home and sexually assaulted on Monday.

A four-year-old girl from Connecticut was in Canada to spend vacations. She was taken from the home near Bathurst Street and Wilson Avenue around 3 a.m. in the morning.

“It is very brazen on the surface that someone has broken into this house … and a young girl has been abducted and assaulted. We are very concerned. We don’t leave these kinds of people wandering the streets,” said Det. Dan Luff of the Toronto Police Service’s sex crimes unit.

According to the police, the parents called 911 the moment they realized the little girl was missing from her bed. However, before the police could arrive, they had found the girl from nearby place and took her to the hospital.

Staff Sgt. Frank Barredo said: “Family members located her within minutes after the abduction. They saw a man fleeing the scene.”

Police has described the suspect as 19-20 years old white and five feet six to five feet 10 inches tall. The alleged suspect was last seen wearing a blue coat with a red stripe or a sweatshirt and a toque, hat or hoodie.
