N.B. father Anthony Linfield pleads guilty in connection with youth’s death

On January 10, 2012, 27-year-old Anthony Linfield of Havelock, N.B. pleaded guilty to criminal negligence causing death in relation to the death of his 23-month-old daughter, Dakota Linfield.

Dakota Linfield died in January 2010 after ingesting methadone prescribed to her father. Anthony Linfield had a prescription which allowed him to possess methadone-laced orange juice at his residence.

Upon his plea of guilty, two additional charges of manslaughter and failing to provide the necessaries of life were withdrawn by the Crown.

Anthony Linfield will return to Moncton Provincial Court on March 12, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. for sentencing.
