Another teenager has been arrested in connection to the Ethan Yellowbird homicide investigation. Three young boys are facing several charges, including manslaughter, intentional discharge of a firearm and endangering life, in the killing of a five-year-old.

According to the RCMP, three youths were 13, 16 and 17 at the time of the homicide. Police thanked the people of the reserve who offered assistance and ensure the success of their investigation.

The identity of arrested teens cannot be disclosed in abidance of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The young kid, Ethan Yellowbird, was shot to death in July while he was sleeping at his father’s house.

“The death of five-year-old Ethan Yellowbird was a tragedy to the entire community, including the RCMP officers who know the local kids,” Staff Sgt. Charlie Wood said.

“What stands out, to me, is that right from the early days of shock and the grief, this community was asking the RCMP, ‘What can we do to help you solve this crime?’ That is the attitude that has helped us solve this case.”

According to Insp. Garrett Wolsey, the arrests took place with the help of witnesses and the determination of investigators.
