The Edmonton Police Service Sexual Assault Section has charged a man in connection with a historical sex assault.

In July 2011, an individual reported to police that he had been sexually assaulted by his piano teacher during private lessons that took place between December 2004 and December 2007.

As a result of the investigation into this allegation, Daniel Shee Yin Chong53, has been charged with one count of sexual assault and two counts of sexual exploitation. Chong was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 29, 2012.

The Edmonton Police Service believes that there may be other complainants in the community who have yet to contact police, and in addition, that Chong may pose a risk to prospective students.
