Edmonton police located a deceased man in a house fire

At 7:40 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) was informed by the Edmonton Fire Department (EFD) of a deceased male found in a residential fire in the area of 129 Street and 117 Avenue.

The Medical Examiner has determined the manner of death to be homicide. The cause of death is not being released at this time. The identity of the male, believed to be in his late 20s, has not yet been confirmed.

EPS Homicide Section is leading the investigation; EFD and the EPS Arson Unit continue to investigate the cause of the fire.

Update: The deceased male found in a residential fire in the area of 129 Street and 117 Avenue on Tuesday has been identified as Philipp Jochen Woehrle, 28.
