Ashbridge's Bay Victoria Day Fireworks Display has traditionally been a family event that draws a large number of people to the area.

The display is fired from an area of Ashbridge's Bay Park visible from Coxwell Avenue to Victoria Park Avenue on the Boardwalk.

Due to the large crowds this event draws, commuters can expect congested roadways and limited parking in the area. In past years, heavy congestion has resulted in the closure of Lake Shore Boulevard, between Leslie Street and Woodbine Avenue. Police recommend the public consider using public transit to attend this event. The TTC will be providing additional bus service to accommodate the crowds.

Public washrooms at Ashbridge's Bay will be closed after 10 p.m.

As a reminder to attendees, setting off personal fireworks in a public park is dangerous and unlawful. Police will be patrolling and enforcing the by-law. Fireworks brought into the area will be seized.

The fireworks display is scheduled to start on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 9:45 p.m., and should last approximately 15-20 minutes.
