Toronto man Christopher Husbands charges with First Degree murder

On Saturday, June 2, 2012, at approximately 6:15 p.m., police responded to a shooting call at the Eaton Centre.

The name of the victim can now be released as the court−ordered publication ban that was in place has been lifted.m

The victim is identified as Nixon Nirmalendran, 22, of Toronto.

The accused, Christopher Husbands, 23, of Toronto, will appear in court at Old City Hall on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at 2 p.m., on the following amended charges:

1. two counts of First Degree Murder
2. five counts of Attempt Murder
3. Criminal Negligence Cause Bodily Harm
