Ottawa police’s reminder to residents to lock their garage doors

In summer months, Ottawa residents spend more time outside and often leave garage doors open while at home, creating opportunities for would-be thieves.  

During the weekend of June 16 and 17, in the Fallingbrook area of Orleans, several garages were entered and items like bicycles and power tools were stolen while residents were inside their homes or in their backyards.  In most cases, garage doors were left open making the items easily accessible.

The Ottawa Police Service is reminding everyone to ensure you secure your garage doors at all times.
