Two people face charges in connection with a murder and attempted murder last month in Halifax.
At approximately 8:40 p.m. Halifax Regional Police responded to a weapons call at 2711 Clifton Street in Halifax. Two men, one armed with a handgun, broke into the apartment and two people who were in the apartment were shot. Thirty-six-year-old Corey Lucas was pronounced deceased at the scene, and a second man, 31, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and later released.
The investigation by the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit resulted in several search warrants being executed in both Halifax and Prospect. On Wednesday, June 20, investigators arrested 20-year-old Dylan Peter Roach at the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility in Burnside where he is incarcerated on another matter. He has been charged with first degree murder and attempted murder and was scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court tomorrow.
Twenty-seven-year-old Jenna Karlene Piercy of Prospect was arrested without incident at 8:20 a.m. on Friday, June 22 in Fall River. She was questioned by investigators and was charged with accessory after the fact in connection with the homicide. She was also charged with drug possession for the purpose of trafficking in relation to the search conducted on May 28 at a residence on Kelly Point Road in Prospect. She was remanded to the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today.
