Investigators with the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit made two arrests this afternoon in connection with the 2010 homicide of 21-year-old Ryan Matthew White.

On July 22, 2010, officers responded to the 100 block of Jarvis Lane in Halifax for a report of a shooting. The victim, Ryan White, was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

With the assistance of Hamilton Police Service, Major Crime investigators arrested two men this afternoon in Hamilton, Ontario. The 23-year-old and 25-year-old, formerly of Halifax and Dartmouth respectively, were arrested and are being interviewed at this time.

Recently, new information in this case led investigators to search Fort Needham Park in Halifax on June 29 for evidence related to the case. On July 6, White’s case was added to Nova Scotia’s Department of Justice Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes which offers up to one hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murder of Ryan White.
