Oshawa man Stanley Mark Brown charged with several counts on sexual assault

DRP Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit (SAU) investigators recently concluded an historical investigation and a Durham resident now stands charged with numerous sexual offences.

Recently, several adult male victims came forward to SAU investigators, reporting historical allegations of sexual assault which occurred during the decade spanning 1975 to 1985. The accused held the role as a volunteer Scout Leader with the 20th Scouting Troop of Oshawa and allegedly sexually assaulted each victim with inappropriate touching during this tenure. 

Investigators launched a thorough and historical investigation into these multiple allegations and have recently concluded their investigative findings with the charging of the accused.

Stanley Mark Brown, age 64 of Cavendish Court in Oshawa is charged with: Gross Indecency x5; Indecent Assault on a Male x5 and Sexual Assault x2. The accused was held for a bail hearing.

The accused was a former a Scout Leader and held various roles of leadership in amateur sports in Durham Region and is also a businessman in the community. Investigators are appealing to the public for other victims to come forward.
