Mississauga man Jeffery Sanford charged in the death of cyclist

Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau are appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision, involving a cyclist that claimed the life of a 75 year-old Mississauga man.

On August 19, 2012, at approximately 10:43 p.m., the victim was riding his bicycle west bound on Burnhamthorpe Road near Tomkin Road in Mississauga.  He was struck by a white pickup truck operated by the suspect.  The suspect then fled the scene north bound on Tomkin.

Jeffery SANFORD a 46 year-old, from Mississauga has been charged with Fail to Remain Causing Death, and Drive While Under Suspension.  He will appear before an Ontario Court of Justice on Brampton on August 20, 2012.
