A male driver was shot and killed following an early morning police pursuit in the Toronto’s lakeshore area.
The incident took place at about 1:30 a.m. Monday morning
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but responded with gun fire when the vehicle try to escape the police blockade.
Several bullets hit the Nissan Sentra.
A police officer suffered minor injuries and is expected to recover.
The SIU has been called in to investigate the shooting.
Cherry Street is closed both ways from Lake Shore to the lake pending investigation.
