Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an arrest has been made in the homicide which occurred in the 3400 block of 13th Place, SE.
On Monday, June 11, 2012, at approximately 7:15 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the 3400 block of 13th Place, SE for the report of a possible shooting or stabbing. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from multiple injuries. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel arrived on the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The decedent is identified as 26-year-old Brian Dewayne Bloomfield of Southeast, DC.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the cause of death to be gunshot wound and stab wounds. The manner of death has been ruled homicide.
On Thursday, August 30, 2012, 20-year-old Lamonte Hill of no fixed address was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder by members of the Homicide Branch in connection with the homicide of Brian Dewayne Bloomfield.
