At approximately 11:30 pm on April 29, 2010, members of J Division Drug Section South, in collaboration with members of the RCMP’s Integrated Proceeds of Crime unit and District 5 RCMP, conducted a search warrant on a vehicle in the Richibucto area as part of a police probe into organized drug trafficking activity in New Brunswick. The vehicle’s three passengers, a 44-year-old man, a 45-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man all from the Beresford, N.B. area, were arrested at the scene. RCMP seized the vehicle, a large sum of money and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects were released but are expected to appear in court at a later date to face a variety of charges. The investigation is ongoing.

These arrests are part of ongoing efforts by J Division Drug Enforcement to disrupt organized drug trafficking throughout New Brunswick. "Our goal is to reduce the availability of illegal drugs by disrupting the organized criminal groups involved in importing and trafficking drugs in New Brunswick," said Cst. Chantal Farrah.
