A 30-year-old man is dead after he lost control of his motorcycle on 170 Street and 69 Avenue just after 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012.

Several witnesses stopped to provide the motorcyclist assistance until paramedics arrived on scene. The driver unfortunately was pronounced dead at scene by EMS. The deceased was wearing a proper safety helmet and riding jacket at the time of the collision.

Although traffic members are still in the midst of their investigation, early indications suggest alcohol did not play a factor but speed may have. Road and weather conditions were good at the time of the collision.

Northbound traffic on 170 Street at 69 Avenue was closed until 1:15 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012 to allow members to investigate.
