Durham police investigating a woman’s sexual assault in her residence at North Pickering

Durham Regional Police are investigating after a woman in the Claremont area reported being sexually assaulted in a Claremont area home last weekend.

On Sunday October 14, 2012 at approximately 7 p.m. a female victim was home alone in her residence when she heard a noise downstairs and encountered an unknown disguised male suspect inside her home. The victim reported she was sexually assaulted by the male who immediately fled the residence after the assault. The victim broke free and contacted 9-1-1.
Officers immediately responded and located the victim in the residence, who then received medical attention. 

The Sexual Assault Unit continues to investigate and canvassed the area Sunday night looking for any additional information.

The male suspect is described as: of Asian descent, in his mid 20’s, 200 lbs, about 5’10 with broad shoulders and wearing khaki shorts or pants and a black sweatshirt.
