A repeat sexual offender of children was charged with breach of probation today. Previous convictions of Gabourie were of sexually molesting children of varying ages between five and eleven. He was indicted for the act of entering their homes through unlocked windows or doors and sexually assaulting the children in their beds while their families sleep unaware nearby.
The victims were unfamiliar to him. The reports state that he would randomly select any house which had indications of children, like the toys lying outside in yard, or he saw children directly from peaking inside homes through windows. Gabourie was once arrested on charges of possessing illegal child pornography also.
The probation of Gabourie strictly restricted him to attend any public park or public swimming area where pupil under the age of 14 were to be present or could be reasonably expected; or at a day care centre, school ground, playground or community centre. The probation specifically restrained him from “seeking, obtaining or continuing any employment, whether or not the employment is remunerated, or becoming or being a volunteer in a capacity that involves being in a position of trust or authority towards persons under the age of 14; or using a computer system for the purpose of communicating with a person under the age of 14, and having possession of a computer or internet access.”
The members of the Manitoba Integrated High Risk Sex Offender Unit (MIHRSOU) were informed about the location of Gabourie at about 6 p.m. in the area of the 2400 block of Henderson Highway, in the city’s North Kildonan neighborhood.
