Gray Nissan Maxima driver dies in a fatal traffic accident at 12300 South Sam Houston Parkway

Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 12300 block of the South Sam Houston Parkway West service road about 10:55 p.m. on Sunday (Nov. 25). 

The male victim, 34, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris Couny Institute of Forensic Sciences.  A second male was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Sorge and Officer M. Hardt reported: 

The victim was driving a gray Nissan Maxima at a high rate of speed from the Southwest Freeway (South Interstate Highway 59) service road toward the South Sam Houston Parkway West service road.  The Nissan entered the Sam Houston Parkway service road and struck the left concrete retaining wall.  The driver was killed and his passenger was transported to the hospital where he is expected to survive his injuries.
