The victorious fans of Toronto Argonauts spread their joy all over the city, celebrating their teams’ victory on the streets through a victory parade on Tuesday, which concluded at the city’s downtown core. The 16th Grey Cup was won by the Argos at their home ground on Sunday, resulting in a 35-22 win over the Calgary Stampeders. This was their first CFL championship victory since 2004.

The parade route was schemed to almost cover all major downtown areas, concluded at the Nathan Phillips Square just outside of Toronto City Hall. Several celebrity players of the Argos themselves were also participated in the parade. The players were ferried all over the route along with a fleet of 28 pickup trucks and a convertible. The players included quarterback Ricky Ray, and MVP Chad Kackert.

Ray was extremely enthusiastic at the time. “What a special game to win,” he asserted while speaking to the rally. He claimed that “It’s been a wonderful couple of days for us.” Ray admitted that even though the team had to face some challenges in the beginning of the season, we all stayed determined and stayed “like a family” to win the cup.

At the rally, Mayor Rob Ford declared Nov. 27 “Toronto Argonauts Day.” He announced “Congratulations Argos. This is what you call a dream come true.” Ford declared “It’s my honour and privilege to proclaim today Toronto Argo day in celebration of the Grey Cup victory.”
