The Bouctouche RCMP is asking for the public’s help in locating a 56-year-old woman who has been missing since Friday, November 30.

Murielle Leger would have left the special care home she was staying in sometime after 5 p.m. on Friday. She was reported missing to police on the afternoon of December 3. Since that time, District 5 RCMP members and the RCMP helicopter have been involved in a search in the Bouctouche area to attempt to locate her.

Murielle Leger is described as Caucasian, measuring 5’1″ tall, and weighing 115 lbs. She has blond shoulder-length hair. She was last seen wearing a black skidoo jacket with yellow stripes, jeans and brown boots. She has a medical condition and requires medication on a daily basis.

Update: On December 7, 2012, at around noon, the body of a 56-year-old woman reported missing earlier this week from Bouctouche was found along the banks of the Bouctouche River near Alyre Lane in Bouctouche.

A person walking near the shore line spotted the body and called police. The Bouctouche woman was reported missing on December 3, 2012.

Foul play is not believed to be involved in her death.
