Burton man Michael James Boucher charged with child pornography

On December 17, 2012, the RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit laid two charges in Burton Provincial Court against a 43-year-old Burton man in connection with a child sexual abuse image investigation.

Michael James Boucher was charged with one count of making child pornography available and one count of possession of child pornography. The matter was adjourned to January 21, 2013, at 9:30 a.m., when Boucher is scheduled to appear in Burton Provincial Court to enter a plea.

On September 20, 2012, investigators with the RCMP’s ICE Unit, the Saint John Police Force, the RCMP’s Technological Crime Unit and District 2 RCMP searched a home in Burton resulting in the seizure of various items including computer equipment and data storage devices containing images of children being sexually abused.

The 43-year-old man was arrested when police searched his home and later released on strict conditions not be in contact with children under 16 years of age and not to have access to a computer.
