Saintfield man Earl Sanderson charged with historical sexual offences

Durham Regional Police Sexual and Child Abuse Unit (SAU) investigators recently concluded an investigation into a number of allegations of sexual offences and a Scugog Township man now stands charged with sexual assault.

Recently a number of adult female victims came forward to SAU investigators, reporting allegations of sexual assault, some allegations dating back to 15 years ago. The accused held the role as both a volunteer and staff member at GATE 3:16 in Oshawa, a refuge and shelter. The victims were clients of GATE 3:16, where the accused was employed.

Investigators launched a thorough and historical investigation into these allegations and have recently concluded their investigative findings with the charging of the accused.

Earl Sanderson, age 67, of Hwy 12, Saintfield (Scugog Township) is charged with Sexual Assault x4. The accused was held for a bail hearing.

The accused worked at GATE 3:16 as both a volunteer and member of staff between 1995 and 2012. He had a number of roles, including teaching and counseling. Investigators want to ensure there are no other victims.

  1. hii im tim…I work servin at gate in lunchtime with earl before he leave .and I serve bescomment_IDe him ,I am have autism an mentaly retardation little bit.earl sanderson touched me before too in my private spot,and my wet spot too. ,the lunch was serve with a touch of earl for me,and when he get cop arrested I turned to sue for attention and she only make me cry so bring back earl coz his tards need him.
