On Tuesday, June 1, 2010, police responded to a call for a robbery in the Mount Pleasant Road/Eglinton Avenue East area.

It is reported that:

– a man approached a 79-year-old man and told him to get on the floor,

– he struck the victim in the back of the head with a blunt instrument,

– the victim fell to the floor and was struck two more times in the head while he was on the ground,

– the suspect then stole the victim’s wallet and fled the area.

Police believe there may be more victims.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
