Toronto police has recently found a fully loaded gun hid in a shoulder bag within school premises, resulting in four teens facing numerous weapons charges. Reports confirm that Toronto police received an anonymous call around 2 p.m. yesterday, informing that a loaded gun is being kept in the Blessed Mother Teresa Catholic Secondary School, i.e. located in the northeast section of the city.
Consequently, police officers went over to search the school as the place was kept on complete lockdown during the search. During the lockdown, a teenage girl tried to sneak out of the building around 2:30 p.m., though she was caught carrying a bag containing a loaded weapon. The police has confirmed that four students, ranging between the age of 16 and 17, have been arrested. The four students, which include three boys and a girl, are each charged with one count of possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition, possession of a restricted weapon obtained by the commission of an offence, altering, defacing or removing the serial number on a firearm, careless use of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of an unregistered restricted weapon, possession of a restricted weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized, careless storage of ammunition and carrying a concealed weapon.
Whereas, the girl who tried to sneak out of the building has been additionally charged with carrying a concealed weapon. Overall the police has laid 42 charges on the four teens arrested. Identity of all the suspects is being kept a secret in compliance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
