Antigonish woman driver dies in a fatal collision at James River near exit 30

Yesterday at approximately 12:50 p.m., RCMP responded to a fatal collision on Highway 104 in James River near exit 30.

A Volvo S60 collided into an Honda CRV that was travelling on Highway 104.  The Volvo was driven by a 78-year-old female driver from Antigonish who succumbed to her injuries and died at the scene. 

A 57-year-old female driver from St. Peters, NS along with a 37-year-old female passenger and 4-month-old baby boy, both from Toronto, ON, were occupants in the Honda CRV.  All three were transported to St. Martha’s Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The name of the deceased is not being released at this time.  The cause of the collision is under investigation.
