The Toronto Immigration Task Force (ITF) has arrested two more individuals that were on the “Wanted by the CBSA” list (http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/wc-cg/menu-eng.html).

The ITF had active investigations to locate and apprehend:

– Robert Akwsi Boakye, who was wanted on a Canada-Wide Warrant for

Removal and also on outstanding criminal warrants. Boakye has criminal convictions in Canada for Extortion, Uttering Threats and Fraud Over $5,000.

– Hong Guang Xue, who was wanted on a Canada-Wide Warrant for Removal.

Xue is alleged to have committed an offence outside of Canada that, if committed in Canada, would constitute a Canadian offence.

Details on Boakye arrest:

The investigation led members of the ITF to believe that Boakye was staying a residence in the Maple area in the City of Vaughan. In the early evening hours of February 20th, RCMP and CBSA members, as well as an RCMP Police Dog, attended the residence to attempt to apprehend Boakye. Investigators observed Boakye exiting the building. When police attempted to arrest Boakye, he fled but was captured after a short foot chase. Boakye was transported to a local holding centre where he remains in custody.

Details on Xue arrest:

This investigation led members of the ITF to the City of Guelph. On February 22nd, investigators observed Xue in a vehicle in which he was a passenger.

Members of the ITF stopped the vehicle and Xue was arrested without incident.  Xue was transported to a local holding centre where he remains in custody.

“I am very proud of the hard work and dedication our ITF members display in order to apprehend these high-risk fugitives”, stated Sgt DeAnna Hill (Immigration Task Force). “Our success in apprehending these fugitives is directly linked to our partnerships with many other police services, and also tips from the public.”
