The RCMP is investigating the death of a woman in Saumarez on March 5, 2013. The body of a 59 year-old woman was discovered in her residence at around 10:45 a.m. At this point, the woman’s death is deemed suspicious, and foul play has not been ruled out. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
The RCMP J Division Major Crime Unit (North-East) is leading the investigation with assistance from the Acadian Peninsula RCMP and the RCMP’s Forensic Identification Section.
The name of the woman is not being released at this time.
